#Haul & #Swatches: Clinique Cheek Pop in cola pop

Last week Clinique ran a promotion that included free shipping and two gifts on any online purchase. Being a lover of deals and of freebies I decided it was time to get something I had been coveting for some time, my very first Clinique Cheek Pop. I know Cheek Pops have been around for a while and I have always thought them cute but they never really caught my eye. It wasn't until I started seeing pictures of cola pop that I said: "hold up, what is this beautiful thing?!" This was something totally different from the other happy-go-lucky shades, something I could def sink my teeth into. I placed my order and counted the days till its arrival.

It took about a week which of course felt like fooooorrrreeeevvveer but eventually my Clinique order arrived and it was all so pretty! I received my two free gifts plus a sample, I am guessing that there is always a sample with each order and that is pretty sweet. Let's chat about the sample first.

This is the Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey, I'm so not a fan of this. This to me seems like a lip butter, which I am also not a fan of. It gives the sheerest amount of pigmentation while feeling really slippery and weird. It also has a very strange smell that I did not like at all. This color is very unappealing to me as well, you can build it up some but it's such an ugly shade that it looks like doodoo. Moving on...

The two freebies that came with my order were this cute makeup bag and a body exfoliator. I have not tried the exfoliator yet, but I like how it's almost a travel size and not the tiniest of samples. I also love the makeup bag, it's a bigger size and it will fit a lot of stuff nicely in my bag.

Now let's talk about cola pop. This is as good as I had hoped if not better. The presentation as you already can tell is adorable, I love the acrylic packaging. What I had no idea about is the great formula on these blushes, it kicks up no powder and does in fact not feel like powder when you swatch it. But it has the biggest color payoff and it's super pigmented, I was almost scared to try it. The hue of this blush is richer and deeper than these pictures show it to be, something about my camera really lightens up colors, in person this will be darker.

cola pop is a rich red-berry shade that is as true to color as possible to that of the product in the pan.  I find that it's SO pigmented, I wore it yesterday and I kid you not, all I did was tap my brush ever-so-lightly into the pan twice and there was full color. I had so much color in fact that I had to tone it down a bit with powder and extra blending. If all Clinique Cheek Pops are this pigmented then I don't see anyone finishing one for years and years.

Clinique Cheek Pop's cost $21 which I think is a really good price. In comparison to other brands like NARS blushes $30 and Urban Decay $26, it hurts less on the wallet. And the quality (at least of this shade) makes it well worth it. Definitely worth the price!

I am a fan. I don't know if this will make me want more, maybe a lavender one that I keep seeing on IG, but I am totally a fan of this one for sure. I think it's going to be my go-to fall blush and I can't wait to try it again and hopefully not overdo the amount again. Have you tried any Clinique Cheek Pops and if so what are your thoughts?
