YSL Volupte Tint-In-Oil Pink About Me

As you know I am a lip product lover above all makeup and there is so much hoopla surrounding the YSL Volupte Tint-In-Oil lippes that I had to get one for myself. It wasn't an easy decision though let me tell you, not with that price tag.

Because of its $32 price tag, I had this in my cart for about 3 months before I finally bit the bullet, and that was only on the day that Ebates had 16% Cash Back at Nordstrom.com. Even at $26.88 I felt this is more than pricey, but I am of a mind that we should treat ourselves once in a while and I really, really wanted to see if these are as amazing as so many claim they are.

Before I begin to give you my thoughts let's see the product on the lips. This YSL Volupte Tint-In-Oil is in the shade Pink About Me, which was one of three shades in stock. The cherry shade is the one I really wanted but it always seem to be out of stock. I had read reviews saying all the shades are super similar since they are so sheer so I went ahead and chose this one instead of waiting who knows how long for a re-stock.

I personally am a fan of really bright and eye-catching shades, and I knew this was not a lipstick that was going to deliver full color but I was hoping for some color. On that perspective I guess this product delivers, because with 2 coats, as seen above, you do get a nice tint on your lips. With one coat I find you get a very sheer veil of color, so I usually do two.

My first thought when I pulled it out the first time and started to apply it was "I love this applicator!". It is in fact very similar to Lancome's Gloss in Love applicator where it looks like a little hand (this wand is better in fact) and simply glides along your lips delivering the product smooth and even. I love how this product feels on the lips, it's an oil but it doesn't feel "oily" in a gross way if you get my drift, it's just so smooth! And the scent is so divine, it smells like peaches to me though I have heard different people say they smell like other fruits. The point is that applying YSL Volupte Tint-In-Oil is heavenly...and your lips feel like they are coated with something marvelous and magical. I usually wear this when I am working at home and need a pick me up or some extra moisturizing on my lips, because it's truly a treat on the lips.

Wear time depends on your eating and drinking of course. When I wore this two days ago, I noticed the oil stayed on my lips nice and strong for about two hours even though I was having a latte. After the second hour 1/2 of the glossiness was gone but I could still feel it and very comfortably rub my lips together to distribute it around. Around the 4th hour is when I began to see just the stain on my lips...while my lips felt very soft. One thing interesting is that even though I have some lines on my lips, this product never ran into them or out of the edges of my lips. I know that products like Rimmel's Showoff Lip Laquers have done that to me in the past as well as other very thin formulas. So even though this is a thin oil, there isn't any slipping and sliding of the product, even on 42 year old lips.

My overall thoughts would have to be that YSL Volupte Tint-In-Oils are worth the hype. I am very happy that I got the one and that I got to try it for myself. If they were a more accessible price I would probably buy more, but even though I can pay $32 without a problem, that is too much in my opinion for a lip product, so I won't be getting more. But I think if you want to treat yourself to something luxurious as a little perk or as a just because, you def should. At least one! Or put one on your birthday or holiday list and let someone else pay the 32 bucks...lol.

What are your thoughts on this product, have you purchased one or have you been eyeing it for yourself?
