#LipQuickie Mac Have Your Cake

When the limited edition Flamingo Park Mac Collection came out, I fell in love with the bright, colorful tones of the entire collection. I even went in person to the store to swatch the gorgeous blushes and lipsticks, hoping that one would be workable on my skin tone. I also really fell in love with one of the 8-pan palettes but passed once I saw the very tiny size of that. In the end I ended up picking two items as part of my Valentine's Day gift from my boyfriend, one lippie and one blush. After trying the blush a few times I realized that would not work for me, it was far too bright and no matter how lightly I applied it, it still looked like way too much. I am heavy handed with blush, I admit it, I like blush to really show up on me, just not to the point of clown face.

The lipstick however is a beautiful shade that I am super happy has joined my Mac collection.  Feast yer eyes on Have Your Cake.

Have Your Cake is described as  bright magenta, but to me this has a tinge of purple, which is what keeps it from being just a boring, bright pink. I am such a sucker for this type of shade and do have "similar" tones in my collection already, but this is the one with the most pink. And I was super happy to see once I wore it, that it does work for my skin tone and is just as beautiful on as in the tube.

Have Your Cake has a matte finish which if you know Mac's mattes then you know they are not a drying, tug-on-the-lips dry at all. In fact it goes on soft and creamy and stays like that for hours, though the finish is definitely matte. Mac has one of my favorite matte formulas and it's one of the main reasons I even began to buy Mac.

I think Have Your Cake is going to be a favorite in my collection and I look forward to wearing it often. This shade is available right now as of the moment I wrote this post.

I now that nudes are all the rage, but for me there is nothing, nothing like a bright pop of color on the lips. Have Your Cake is beautiful pop of color for those that need some color in their lives.
