Urban Decay Revolution Lipsticks Haul & Swatches

The Urban Decay Revolution lipsticks are one of those items that I would always promise myself, but I never actually got around to buying any. Then one day the Urban Decay Pulp Fiction collection came along and being such a fan of the movie plus lover of a good red lippie, I had to get myself Mrs. Mia Wallace. That was the only UD Revolution lippie I had until the Urban Decay Matte Revolution lipsticks came along, which is when I purchased the shade 1993, thinking to get more at a later time.

Then lo and behold one day about a month ago the entire Urban Decay Revoltuion lipstick range went on sale for 1/2 off and we found out that the line was being zeroed out to make way for a new formula and new design. So all those promises to myself of beautiful UD Revolution lippies were about to be broken. At this point Munkey had taken my 1993 and all I had in my hand was the Mrs. Mia Wallace, and of course I could not let that be the end. I placed two orders between Sephora and Macy's and finally got myself those Revolution lippies I had long ago promised myself.

As of the time of this post, a few sites and stores still have quantities of these lippies for $11 (in the three formulas) but they are getting pretty scarce. Just this morning I placed an order for one last lipstick and saw that most shades are indeed gone.

Before we talk about the shades let's take a moment to appreciate the packaging on the Urban Decay Revoltuion lipsticks shall we? These lipsticks have just an overall cool look, and are some of the best looking lippies that I have ever seen. Plus I love how heavy and substantial each bullet feels, which is definitely something that is lacking with the new range which feels really cheap and plastic. But hopefully the new formula will be even better than these, which would be awesome because the Revolution formula is pretty darn amazing. At the end of the day I will not complain about the new packaging because it's going to make the new range more affordable, plus they were really great to lower the price on the original line so that we could get our hands on so many of them. Now let's talk about these killer shades!

the swatches

from the top down: Urban Decay Revolution Matte lipstick in 1993, Urban Decay Revolution lipstick in F-Bomb, Urban Decay Revolution lipstick in Rapture, Urban Decay Revolution lipstick in Rush and the Urban Decay Sheer Revolution lipstick Ladyflower

Urban Decay Revolution Matte lipstick in 1993 is a shade that I purchased as soon as the matte line lunch and has since been my favorite brown. My first tube went to my daughter and I'm just stoked that I was able to get my replacement in the original tube before it sold out. FYI this is one of my top five lipstick of life and I totally recommend it to anybody that loves  a good brown lippie.

Urban Decay Revolution lipstick in F-Bomb was a total buy for me because there's nothing that I enjoy more than a red lipstick. Mrs. Mia Wallace is more of a deep red so I can definitely enjoy having this classic red as part of my UD collection.

Urban Decay Revolution lipstick in Rapture was one I ordered just based off of online swatches and oh my goodness, what a gorgeous shade. The first day that I tried it on I was so enamored with it that I wanted to order a back up. Rapture is a dusty rose mauve with plum undertones, that is STUNNING and looks beautiful on. I am in love with this shade, big time.

Urban Decay Revolution lipstick in Rush is a pink with hints of mauve that again I chose just based off of online swatches and I'm so happy that I did because it's another amazing shade. This shade along with the Rush is going to be for me an everyday shade that goes with everything, are totally fuss free and are just such a pleasure to wear because of the amazing formula. I know this is supposed to be a pink, but for somebody like me that doesn't wear light shades often, this is like a total nude and a very comfortable nude at that. I recommend Rush 100% to anyone that is looking for a beautiful everyday shade.

Urban Decay Sheer Revolution lipstick in Ladyflower is a shade that I picked up because I own a miniature size of this shade in a regular non-sheer formula from a collection that came out two holidays ago. That shade has forever been one of my favorites and I've always been really disappointed that they don't offer it in a regular version of it. I went ahead and bit the bullet and ordered the sheer version thinking that I would just layer it in order to build the pigmentation and it is actually perfect. I'm so glad that I didn't miss out on this shade in the original purple tube that the sheer revolution lippies come in. I'm still crossing my fingers that the new range will have Ladyflower in the regular version because it is a stunning, stunning shade on pink that I can not get enough of. Plus this sheer formula ain't bad at all!

So there you go guys these are the Urban Decay Revolution lipsticks that I picked up these past weeks for $11 and I am over the moon to own these beautiful shades. These lipsticks in their original tubes are now going to be treasured components of my beauty collection and I seriously could stare at them all day because they are so stunning. I will be updating this post with another arm and lip swatch once I receive my last lipstick. For now I hope that you have enjoyed this look into the Revolution lippies that I picked up.
