Makeup Revolution Mermaids Forever Review & Swatches

To say that I have been a fan of Makeup Revolution since before they even crossed the pond is not a lie, by the time that they arrived at Ulta stores I was already waiting with a list of items that I knew I needed to get my hands on immediately. I have been sharing items I bought myself from Makeup Revolution on my Instagram page since last year and more recently I was really excited when they sent me a batch of items to review.  It is very exciting when a brand that you already love wants to work with you and today I have one of those pieces that they sent me to share with you all. This is one of the Makeup Revolution Ultra Eyeshadow 32-pan palettes, the Mermaids Forever palette which is perfect for those looking for bright, bold pops of color. It is summer after all and it's the perfect time to give your neutral palettes a break in exchange for these gorgeous summer hues.

This palette is also perfect for those of you that dream of being a mermaid, even if for just a day.  It comes in a beautiful turquoise metallic box that you will probably want to keep as apart of your collection. I always mention the fact that Makeup Revolution includes boxes with their pallets because it just makes them perfect for gift giving and just adds something extra. It's hard to believe that this 32-pan eyeshadow palette costs only $15.

I'm also a huge fan of Makeup Revolution's sleek black cases. Truly I think that their packaging is a bit above our drugstore brands and when you're buying a product of theirs you don't even feel like you're buying something that is so incredibly affordable.

Something else that I think is worth mentioning the incredibly large mirror that comes with these 32-pan palettes. Having a mirror inside my palette is actually super convenient for me. I do have a mirror that I use for putting on my makeup but I like being able to have a mirror that's a lot closer to me when applying my eyeshadows.

Now I want to take a few minutes to look at these shades because they are absolutely stunning. I love the way that you can find everything from neutral shades to emerald greens and even some red tones.

Mermaids Forever delivers a festival of colors that can take you from your everyday workday to a weekend at the beach.

Even though there are 32 shadows in the palette, the Mermaids Forever palette is nice and slim so it's perfect to travel with.

My favorite columns in the palette are the brown/bronze and greens, I knew that I would love both of those!

As one might expect with such large palette, not every shade is a winner. For the most part the shimmery metallic shades are stunning, buttery soft and quite pigmented, some true standouts. It was only a few of the lighter shades in the first column that I found to not be as pigmented or even soft. But I was really excited to find that the green column, the brown column, the blue column and a lot of the really bright colors really deliver. I wasn't even going to swatch any of them because I was working with the last light of day but decided to show you at least  few of the columns.

One of my favorite columns and one that I know I will be using a lot in conjunction with the pops of color.

I love blue and green shadows and love the finish on all of these, especially the entire green column.

Because of the lighting you're not seeing that super metallic shimmery finish but if you follow me on Snapchat you would have seen me swatch these live.

You can find the Makeup Revolution Mermaids Forever Palette at Ulta for only $15 and if you wait for one of their buy one get one 50% sales you can get it for even less. Also, don't forget that this is a drugstore brand so you are able to stack the $3.50 off coupon with any $10 or $15 purchase. As affordable as this palette is and with as many great shades as it has, I would say that it is a definite winner. Just know that a few of those lighter shades are not super pigmented, but I think that if you're buying this palette, you really are looking for those pops color and those really do deliver. If you are on a budget and looking for a lot of the bright colors that are so on-trend right now or if you're just looking to add more color to your makeup collection, I think this is one you should definitely consider.
