My October Beauty Favorites

It's October 31st and it's hard to believe that the month of October went by so quickly! In November I didn't share a monthly favorites because I didn't really have a lot of standout items but this past month I really paid attention to products that I reach for a lot. A few of these in fact, are items that I pulled out of my stash specifically because I never reach for them and in doing so I realized just how good they are while others are daily staples. Without further ado, let's talk about my October monthly favorites.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water: One of the best $5 I have ever spent has been on this Micellar water from Garnier. I got this a few months ago along with the version in the pink bottle (I like it too but I prefer this one) along with a few bottles for Cici. Since I had coupons I only paid $5 per bottle, which was awesome sauce! The normal price is about $8.79 which is still a really good price for such a good product.

I've actually been trying out a few different makeup removers in the past two months including Philoshophy and Sephora brands, and this is just my favorite of them all. It does such a good job of taking all of my makeup off, it's spectacular for eye makeup and as an overall face cleanser. You don't even have to rinse if you're feeling lazy or in a hurry and your face actually feels nice and clean. I will be finishing this bottle up soon and will totally repurchase.

Pixi Skintreats Glow Tonic Exfoliating Toner: About six months ago I found the Pixi Glow Tonic on clearance at my local Target, strange thing since they don't even carry Pixi, and that's when I started using this product. That day I stocked up on about 5-6 of these bottles (to share with my girls) and have been using it off and on since then. I like this toner because it has a very pleasant Aloe Vera scent and I feel like it really does make a difference in the brightness of my skin tone.

CHANEL VITALUMIÈRE AQUA: I discovered this foundation last year around the time of my b-day and it quickly became a favorite. This foundation is very different from any other that I own as in it's very light on the skin while still delivering a light-medium coverage. I have really enjoyed this foundation and it's definitely in my top 3 of all time. Depending on how much coverage I want or the finish, I can apply it with fingers and no powder or if I want a little more coverage then I use a brush and can either powder or not. It's not dewey at all but it always surprises me how luminous it is and how nice my skin looks when I am wearing it.

Yves Saint Laurent Volupté Tint-in-Oil: This is the only YSL Tint-in-Oil that I own and it was actually quite a splurge for me. This product has been out for a while and as far as I know it was the first oil with pigment. Now quite a few brands have jumped on the bandwagon of the conditioning lip oil with a sheer wash of color, but I definitely enjoy this one the best. The finish of this product is not a thick at the Milani Lip Conditioning Oils nor is it as this as Lancôme Juicy Shakers, so it's the perfect consistency. It's got enough of a wash of color to actually show up on the lips but it's very light and very conditioning. I'd love to say that I would repurchase this or buy more shades but next time I try something from YSL, I think I am going to go with a foundation or lipstick.

Sephora Collection Bright Future Gel Serum Concealer in Custard: This is a newer purchase from me than I've had in my cart for a while. One of my favorite YT'bers AndrewsOffDay mentions this a lot and he compares it to the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer which I will probably never purchase due to it's price. Sorry I can't compare it to the NARS but I can tell you that it works really nicely on my skin. I have drier skin under the eyes and I like how light this goes on without caking or creasing into my lines. Because it's so light on the skin, I can even use this for highlighting other parts of my face including my forehead, chin and nose without it getting thick and gross and making my skin look aged. From the reviews I have seen I don't think this product works on oilier skin but if you have drier skin and are looking for buildable coverage, this might work for you.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Anti Aging: Something I pulled out of the clearance section at Sephora.com last month after seeing it on a YT video. From what I see this is a very polarizing product- people either love it or absolutely hate it. I've seen reviews from people who say it creases like mad, that it's too oily for their skin, or that it's just gross. On my drier and now more wrinkly eyelids, it works like a dream. I put a nice coat of this on my lids and even the driest of matte shadows go on smoother and more even. Also, the really shimmery shadows go on a lot less creasy and wrinkly.

I picked this up for only $10 and I know that it's usually $24. I suggest picking it up during a sale or stalk the Sephora clearance page and you're sure to bump into it at some point. I love it and it's the primer that I keep reaching for over all my others.

Tarte Tartelette in Bloom: This is one of my favorite platte purchases of 2015 and unfortunately I don't reach for it enough. That's why this month as I was shopping my stash I decided to pull it out and use it for a week straight.

So using it for a few days straight really reminded me of why I fell in love with the Tarte Tartalette in Bloom, in the first place. I love the three shimmer shades in here, especially the shade "Rocker" which is not as shimmery as the other two but still very beautiful. I could literally wear that shade on my lid every single day with some of the matte shades in the crease and be happy. Something really nice about these shadows, besides them being so pretty, is that the staying power is so there. I can apply these in the morning and they look exactly the same when I remove them at night. If you don't already own this palette and are looking for one of the better ones out there with a lot of everyday matte shades and a few shimmers to add a pop of fun, I would totally recommend this one!

NARS One Shocking Moment Cheek Palette: I got this last holiday from my boyfriend and though it was an items I was DYING to own, I hardly ever reach for it. That's why in October I brought it out and made it a point to use it as much as possible. I knew I liked the blushes but hadn't used the face powders much so I made sure to use as many of the products as I could and have realized I am really missing out. This palette is fantastic, it really is. I love all the blushes, even the light pink which I mix with the darker, and the Paloma duo and Laguna bronzer are super nice and so blendable. I've really been terrible to have such an amazing palette at my disposal and not use it.

Though this limited edition NARS Steven Klein palette is no longer available, there is a very similar one called the NARSissist Cheek Studio Palette. It is $65 but the value is $165 and during the VIB sale this would be a good one to grab if you've been looking to try some NARS products.

Another favorite, and probably because i've been wearing it for about 3 weeks now is the Wet n Wild Megalast Polish in "Keep Vinyl Alive" from the Fall 2015 collection. I got this last fall and this was the first time that I have ever applied it. Don't ask me why because it's gorgeous! This reminds me of a baby Ulta polish I got two years ago that I also really liked. "Keep Vinyl Alive" is a graphite gray/black with shimmers that you can only really see in the light and it's just such a perfect shade for fall. I usually wear really colorful polishes so it's been really nice to wear a few darker shades and this one will stay on top of my favorites list for sure.

I'm sure there were other products that I really reached for in October but these were the ones that came to mind when I was pulling them out for the post. I am lucky to have such a large collection of goodies to play with each month and the products I have shared here today really are all stand outs for me. I am waiting for the Sephora VIB sale and will soon have new goodies to share, so keep an eye out for that. Meanwhile, what were some of your October beauty faves?
