Morphe x Kathleen Lights Eyeshadow Palette Swatches

Morphe as a brand is quite polarizing. You have the people who love the brand because it affords them pretty good quality products at low prices, and then you have the people who dislike them because they are a private label company who has big You Tubers shoving their "cheap crap" down everyone's throat. As someone who owns 4 of their larger palettes (the 35O and the 35F amongst them), I would definitely categorize myself as someone who appreciates the brand. I'm not a super fan nor do I run after all of their launches, but if there is a palette that catches my eye, I will definitely purchase it.

So was the case when I saw the Morphe x Kathleen Lights Eyeshadow Palette.

I've been watching Kathleen's channel for a few years now and she is one of the YouTubers that I really like. But even so I've never purchased any of her collabs. I hadn't even planned on buying this palette, but once I saw her announcement video where she swatched it, I fell in love with many of the colors and was so impressed with her swatches.

When I found out that the palette was going to be under $15, well then I knew I would have to pick it up. The only thing though is that I HATE how much Morphe charges for shipping so I actually had my boyfriend go way out of his way to pick it up for me in their store. But he was sort of in the area anyways and was able to use her code in-store so I picked the Morphe x Kathleen Lights Eyeshadow Palette for right about $14.40. Which I think is a great price.

The Morphe x Kathleen Lights Eyeshadow Palette features 15 eyeshadows in a mix of mattes and shimmers. The palette includes a light browbone shade and a black, which I know is something that those who enjoy an all inclusive palette will really like. It also has a few great transitions shades and some gorgeous shimmery shadows that are to die for. Literally, to die for. I am a big fan of Morphe shimmer shadows and some of the ones in this palette are really nice.

The palette is packaged in a slim cardboard case with magnetic closure. I really like the size of this palette which makes it easy to store and travel with. It comes in a very simple and cute box that the hoarder in me wanted to keep.

On to the shades! I love these shades, really and truly. That's what really attracted me to this palette when I saw it. I knew that they were all shades that I could really use, there is nothing too bright or outlandish and that one pop of green is probably my favorite shade in the palette.

The formula of the shadows is typical Morphe brand quality. You have some really smooth and super pigmented shimmer shades with some pretty solid mattes. I only found the browbone shade to be less pigmented than the rest and was truly impressed with how nice the other mattes are.

FYI: All swatches layered twice though the shimmers only needed one.

Row 1: A pretty basic row this is not the most exciting one. However, the 4th shade is absolutely stunning in person! That shimmery shade is a definite standout for me.

Row 2: I love this row! It starts with a matte gray that is a shade I really enjoy in a palette. Then it has what looks like to unassuming shimmers, but once you swatch those you see how beautiful they really are, especially the 2nd purple/taupe shade, that one is GORGEOUS. You then have the two cranberry mattes which both swatch very nicely and both shades are beautiful.

Row 3: probably my favorite because of the bright green and camel shades. The two shimmer shades are so pigmented and smooth and the two mattes after are both pigmented and very soft. The black in my palette is not bad either, I have heard other people say theirs were really light and patchy, but I just had to layer my swatch twice and it looks fine. It's not the blackest matte eyeshadow I own but it's decent and will work just fine.

I know that some of these shades were created by Kathleen and some already exist in the Morphe range. Honestly, I don't know which are which, but I pretty much love them all. Overall I think it's a great palette. It isn't too overwhelming with only 15 shades versus the large Morphe 35 shade palettes which can be too much for me. It's again, an all inclusive palette that will give you a complete variety of looks and the shade range is great for day-to-day and can transition to an evening look easy enough.

The Morphe x Kathleen Lights Eyeshadow Palette retails for $14.99 and is going to restock on the Morphe website on the 6th of January. I would definitely suggest picking it up if you think it's a palette you would enjoy using. I absolutely love mine and almost want a second. Will you be picking one up?

  2. By any chance do you still have this and the packaging? If so, willing to post the ingredients listed on the box?
