July Monthly Beauty Favorites

I've missed my monthly beauty favorites for three months and now I am incredibly late with July's. Oops! I do have excuses though, first I was practically dying during April and May (it was actually just a really bad cough, the worst I have ever had) and then last month I just didn't have enough products that stood out to me enough for a post.

In July I feel like I finally got my footing back and was able to enjoy more makeup days. So here are my favorites for July and a good part of June, some oldies but goodies plus a few new products.

Derma-E sent me this Vitamin C duo at the beginning of June and since then I consistently used these two products each for a few weeks. I am not a skincare guru, you might know if you read this blog. I prefer my skincare for be very simple and easy, and fast! This duo has risen to the top of my favorite skincare items to use because I have actually seen a change in my skin. The best part about these two products is that they are affordable.

Derma-E Vitamin C Concentrated Serum ($24.50) At first I was unsure about this serum because it's liquidy and I found it tricky to apply. I finally got the hang of it by pumping one pump of product on my fingertips, spreading the product to all my fingers and then gently tapping into my entire face. It leaves a bit of a tacky feeling which was a bit strange at first.

Deram-E Vitamin C Renewing Moisturizer ($22.50) While during the evening I need a more potent, moisturizing cream, during the day I prefer a moisturizing that isn't overly rich. This one is perfect. It's lightweight, it sinks into my skin really quickly so I can move on with my makeup without having to wait ages. It also gives my skin enough moisture for daytime.

Together this pair have made my skin look more even, radiant and clearer, so much so that I started using a very lightweight foundation. It's not often that I can actually see products make a difference in my skin and it could be because I stuck with them and used them exclusively. But whatever the case, I wholly recommend giving these two Derma-E products a shot if you are looking for brighter, more even skin. I even think they helped cut down on a lot of the texture I have in between my eyes, forehead and top of the cheekbones.

Lancôme Teint Idole Foundation is no stranger to this blog or any of you if you follow me online. This is my HOLY GRAIL foundation, which I have been using since the 90's. This foundation never does me wrong and it's the perfect formula for the summer months because of the amazing staying power. I wore it here and there in the last two months and each time asked myself why I need other foundations, because Lancôme Teint Idole Foundation is literally perfection. It costs $47 but it's so worth the money in my opinion.

Lancôme Teint Idole Cushion Foundation which is newer to my collection. I got this around March of this year and didn't love it. Back then I was applying it with a beauty sponge and though I liked the fuller coverage finish, I didn't feel it made my skin look great. Fast forward to July, I realized it was drying out so I pulled it out and started applying it with a small buffing brush and what a difference. It also helped that my skin was so amazing, thanks to the Derma-E products above.

With my skin looking better and a brush this foundation has become a favorite. It's super lightweight while still gives a lot of coverage. It's got a very skin-like finish while making my skin look like a much better version of itself because it covers all the hyper pigmentation that's on my cheeks. It's not cakey, it's quite moisturizing for dry skin and just a fabulous foundation. But it is pricey and tends to finish rather quickly as most cushion foundations do. However, I have already repurchased it because it's not everyday that a foundation makes me look like I have amazing skin.

Benefit Boi-ing Airbrush Concealer ($20) another new product to my collection and to the makeup world. I think it's actually been around for a while but this is the reformulated one. I really like that this concealer is only $20, pretty cheap compared to a lot of the popular concealers of the moment. Second, it's amazing for dry skin and makes my under eye area look airbrushed. Not an easy feat.

I would suggest this concealer for anyone looking for medium coverage, perhaps someone with combo or dry skin but not oily. I apply it with my fingers and don't set it with any powder. It doesn't crease, sink into my wrikles nor does it get cakey, and it makes my skin look really smooth. I love it!!!

The NARS One Shocking Moment has been in my collection since holiday 2015. This palette was a very pricey $69 and a gift from my boyfriend. It took me over a year to really start using this palette, even after featuring it here as a monthly favorite back in October. It wasn't until about May that I gave my favorite contour/bronzer powder to my daughter and began to use the Paloma Contour powder in here and Laguna Bronzer as my everyday products.

Seriously, this entire palette is fantastic and it has almost everything you need for your face: highlight/contour powder, a bronzer and 4 blushes. Because it's got so many products in it, this is a great travel palette and I just love the really cool, sleek packaging. I now have it at the top of my makeup area and find myself using it almost every time I do my makeup, if not every time. Plus this palette has really made me love NARS Laguna and the blushes in here are all so pretty. I would for sure say this is one of the best pieces in my makeup collection.

While this palette is no longer available in the exact version, there is another version that is more affordable at $55 and quite similar. If you're looking for a really one-stop cheek palette, this is one I would check out for sure.

This next item has been on my covet list forever and it's so nice to finally have one, it's the Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Swish & Pop Blush in First Love. Talk about a decadent and beautiful blush! First Love is a nudish blush with two different shades, a more peachy nude on the outside and a rosy nude in the middle. Though in the pan the lighter shade on the outside doesn't look like it has much pigmentation, on the cheeks it's just gorgeous. I know you're supposed to pop the middle shade on the apples of your cheecks and the lighter shade everywhere, but I just swirl my brush into the whole thing and get the most beaitiful nude pink flush.

I HIGHLY recommend First Love and think it's worth the $40 price tag, for sure. I do plan on purchasing more shades for myself.

My two favorite mascaras have been oldies but goodies in my collection and featured in my monthly favorites before too. These two mascaras give my pewny lashes length and volume and are just two of my faves. I love each of them on their own but together they are a prefect team.

Lancôme Grandiose Mascara is a great mascara if you're a no fuss makeup person. This mascara gives great separation and length. I usually only have to wear one coat of this mascara because the wand just does a good job of making my sad lashes so long and pretty.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara is probably my favorite mascara. This gives my lashes a little bit of everything: volume, length and a super fluttery look. The only con of this mascara is that it can flake, especially when it's newer but it's such a great mascara that I can overlook that. If you're looking for sexy, fluttery lashes, this mascara is for you.

The two palettes that I enjoyed the most in June and July are again, two favorites in my collection even though one is a few years old and the other brand new. The Anastasia Artist Palette is one of the first palettes that I bought when starting my collection and it's seriously a favorite. This palette gives me so much inspiration and every time that I use it I am so happy with my eye look. My favorites shades are: Dusty Rose, Aubergine, Anaconda and Blue Velvet. If this palette happens to be in your collection, I highly suggest you pull it out and give it some use.

The second favorite and my current favorite palette is the Urban Decay Jean-Michel Basquiat Gold Griot Palette. I love this palette so much and could literally use it daily. This was a limited edition palette that is no longer available, unfortunately. If you happen to spot this on sale somewhere, which can happen with LE items, I would scoop it right up.

Those were my favorites for July and a large part of June, I hope you have enjoyed checking them out. I look forward to sharing my August favorites in a few weeks.
