First Look | Wet n Wild Nude Awakening Swatches and Comparison

My favorite drugstore brand is and has been for some time, Wet n Wild. I love their price point, their limited edition collections that keep us on our toes and I love that as long as you have a drugstore around you, you can pretty much find Wet n Wild just about anywhere. And, even if you don't have a huge makeup budget, you can afford it.

When I found out that they had reformulated and repackaged some of their previous palettes I was excited. It actually took me about 7 different Walgreens stores and 3 cities to find three of the palettes. As of this time I still haven't gotten ahold of Comfort Zone, the most popular of the 4 new palettes that is being compared to the Anastasio Master Palette by Mario. (FYI: I have ordered it from the Wet n Wild website which currently has them all in stock.)

So let's check out the first of the palettes, Nude Awakening and compare it to the original version which I do have a full review of here

I have always liked the original Nude Awakening so it's not a surprise that I already like this palette., The color range is perfect for everyday eye looks, it's a purse or storage area friendly size, and you can't beat the $4.99 price.

The shades are a bit of a mixed bag when swatching. The three darker shades swatched nice and pigmented while the berry shade that is my favorite is not as pigmented as the one in the original palette. The shimmers are better than the originals, still not amazing but I think they will be very pretty on the eyes.

Pretty good for the price, in my opinion.

I will update this post once I have used this palette a few times. For now I am pretty happy with the swatches.

Here is a side-by-side comparison of the original Nude Awakening palette next to the new one. The original palette has pretty good mattes, but the shimmer shades are very powdery. The mattes seem pretty much the same.

Look for First Look Swatches of the other three new Wet n Wild ColorIcon Palettes coming soon plus a full review of Nude Awakening once I use it. I am pretty excited for these new palettes, especially Comfort Zone. Have you gotten your hands on them yet?
