I didn't post a monthly favorites in December so I did combine a few items from that month with my January faves. There are quite a few so definitely grab yourself a cup of coffee before settling down for this post.

NARS Sheer Glow has been one of my favorite foundations for a while and in December I reached for it so many times that I was able to see how amazing it really is. Sheer Glow gives me beautiful medium/full coverage that looks super healthy and no matter what I use to apply it, it just gives me good skin.

I don't have a full review of this foundation on here but I will work on one soon. But for sure, NARS Sheer Glow is one of my top 4 foundations. I have about 1/3 left of my current bottle and know that this is not just a definite repurchase for me, but it's a foundation that has earned a forever spot in my collection.

Purchase Sheer Glow at Ulta, Sephora or Nordstrom.

NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation is the newest NARS foundation offering and because I love Sheer Glow so much I knew I needed to try it. Plus the description sounded like it was an ideal foundation for my skin: natural, radiant and long wear? Sign me up!

I am happy to report that the NARS Radiant Longwear Foundation delivers on all of its claims. I bought this early January and from the minute I first put it on, I knew we were a match. Again, this foundation delivers really healthy skin, with a radiant but not-dewy or shiny finish. I have applied it with a brush and sponge and while the sponge gives a more natural finish, I like it with both. If I am in a hurry I use a brush and love how easy it blends out.

I've seen many reviews for this foundation in the month of January and the only people who seem to have trouble with it are those with oily skin. Therefore I would suggest picking up a sample if you do indeed have oily skin, but I would imagine that those with normal to dry skin would really like this foundation.

The Physicians Formula City Glow Daily Defense Bronzer SPF 30 in Paris has been a consistent go-to for me these past months. I've actually had this product as well as the New York version for quite a while in my collection, but I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I was using them for IG photos only and had never applied it on my skin. They originally came with a very beautiful gold overlay depicting the beautiful city landscape and it was really hard to ruin that. Finally some time last year I decided it was time to finally use them to see if they were any good.

Surprisingly, or maybe not because this is Physicians Formula we're talking about - the bronzers are actually really great. This Paris version is a little bit warmer than the New York version and I find that this gives my skin the most glorious sun-kissed finished, it actually makes my skin look like I just came back from a summer vacation.

The top part of this bronzer does have some micro-shimmer infused into it but it's not chunky so it just gives the skin a beautiful healthy sheen and you can't actually see any glitter particles. The bottom is matte and what I do is fluff my brush into both pans and apply liberally all over my face. Even though the product looks very light in the pans, you can see it on my medium skin tone perfectly. So glad that I have two of these to go through because I really love this bronzer!

I got the Jeffree Star Androgyny Palette at launch from Beautylish and even though I was incredibly smitten with the shade range, I found the dryer mattes to be unforgiving on my lids. Because this palette has more mattes and because I wanted to wear them all on my lids, I gave up after trying it a few times and seeing how dry my lids looked when wearing it.

Fast forward to December when I forced myself to reach for it again, reminding myself that this was a gift from one of my girls and that I loved the shades. This time I went with Dejavu (one of the two shimmers) on the lid - and what a different story! Dejavu is so incredibly creamy, a perfect shadow for my dry lids. Also - the mattes, especially Dominatrix, blend like a dream on my crease and rest of my eye area.

I swatched three of my favorite shades in the photo above and as you can see those mattes are so pigmented, completely free of any patchiness and just beautiful. So - as long as I keep the mattes away from the dryness that is my lids, I can make this palette work for me, plus the combo above looks so good on my skin tone and against my dark hair so it has become a go-to. The Bad Habit Artistry Palette has immediately become my favorite in my collection. The color scheme is just right up my alley and the formula of these shadows this so buttery and smooth that I actually had to stop myself from using it after about 4-5 days going straight to it.

I do have a full review of this palette up if you care to read it and see all of the shades swatched. I do own the ABH Master Palette by Mario, which is the dupe of this palette so I don't feel guilty about buying a knock-off version of it. If you didn't get your hands on the Master Palette or just love this color scheme, I highly recommend it. For the price you can not go wrong.

The Artistry Palette can be purchased on Shop Hush for only $12. It's currently out of stock but I highly suggest keeping an eye out for its restock because it's an amazing and very affordable palette.

The It Cosmetics Superhero Mascara continues to be the one that I want to reach for every single day. This mascara makes my lashes long, it gives them a curl and it gives a lot of volume. While it's not as volumizing as other mascaras like some of my other faves: Too Faced Better Than Sex or Mr. Big from Lancôme, it still makes my lashes look amazing and I love how I can apply one coat and go.

My favorite place to purchase It Cosmetics Superhero Mascara  is on QVC because they have a duo set (I have bought at least 4 of these duos) and even a triple set during the holidays, that makes this mascara much more affordable. I purchase this mascara for myself and my 4 girls so I love to stock up on the QVC sets.

I received the *Maybelline Total Temptation Mascara and Maybelline Total Temptation Brow Definer from Influenster last month and both were an immediate hit.

The Maybelline Total Temptation Mascara is amazing: it gives so much volume and length and it has a coconut scent which is something I have never seen in a mascara. I've raved about the Lancôme Mr. Big Mascara a lot and would definitely say that this mascara is a more affordable version of it. They're not exact dupes but for the price difference I would say they are extremely comparable.

The Maybelline Total Temptation Brow Definer was probably more of a hit than the mascara, and I love the mascara. But this brow pencil is the first one that I have enjoyed using. I am a brow gel gal  who doesn't have the time to use really thin pencils to create a brow, I tried the ABH Brow Wiz a few months ago and didn't have the patience or talent for it.

The *Maybelline Total Temptation Brow Definer has a larger, triangle shaped tip that made all the difference for someone like me who can't work with a really fine point. While this still takes me longer to apply than I would a brow gel - I definitely enjoy using it and notice that I am getting better and better at drawing my brows in with it.

I liked this brow pencil so much that I ordered four, one for each of my girls. So far I have heard feed back from two and they love it as much as I do!

In December I started incorporating three Deciem products into my skin regimen. Of the two products the Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA has made enough of an impact that I can see myself repurchasing it once I finish this tube which is ONLY $5.80! Can you believe that low price?

I have dry, dehydrated skin that gets really flaky during the winter months so I usually add two drops of oil to my moisturizer in order to kick it up enough for my needs. For the past 5 weeks I have replaced that step with only this product and I found that it gives my skin enough hydration, it leaves it feeling soft and plump and even when I layer extra won't make my makeup slide around.

The consistency of this product is thicker which at first is a turn off, but I find that it sinks quickly into my skin. I usually give it about 30 seconds before applying foundation which isn't a lot of time at all. I am using this product in conjunction with another product from The Ordinary and find that this one plays very well with it.

Because this product does not contain any SPF or anti-aging properties, I will now be adding it as an extra step to my daytime regimen aside my regular moisturizer. Between the two products I should have all the moisture and hydration my skin craves, plus anti-aging properties my 44 year old skin requires.

I tried a lot of new lip products in January I also used quite a few from my collection but if there is one that I could reach for every single day - it would have to be the NARS Lip Glide in Bound.  Bound is the perfect mauvey pink shade that looks perfect with any eye look or even on those no makeup days. It's an easy product to carry around with you since you don't even need a mirror to apply it.

This year I hope that this year NARS comes out with more shades of the Lip Glides as I would love to grab a few more. The formula of this product is a hybrid between a lipstick and a gloss and so incredibly comfortable and hydrating. They are on the pricey side at $26 but if you ask me they are worth it.

Purchase NARS Lip Glide in Bound at Sephora, Ulta or Nordstrom

I actually cut out a few products from this month's favorites and decided to hold them for next month because this post was getting a way out of hand. I hope you have enjoyed checking out my January favorites and I will be back in a few weeks with my next month's faves. What were some of your January beauty favorites?
