When Huda announced her Obsessions palettes, I was most excited for the smokey and mauve versions. I am so happy to report that both of these palettes completely met my expectations, I love both.

So - let's talk about today's palette, the Huda Beauty Smokey Obsessions. As someone who loves a smokey eye for everyday, plus preferrs cool tones versus the ever popular warm tones, this palette is a very exciting one.

I feel like these photos don't do this palette much justice, I took them on a very cloudy day. In person the Huda Beauty Smokey Obsessions is a stunning palette. I love the champagne shimmer shades and all of the mattes. I also love that middle brown shimmer. I could probably do without the silver and gold shades - but overall I like the color story and am thrilled to pieces that Huda Beauty created a palette for us smokey, cool-toned lovers.

Here is the palette description from Sephora.com.

Huda Beauty Smokey Obsessions—Master the ultimate smoky eye or staple nude look with this range of four mattes and five metallic shimmers—including an intense black, warm shades of dark brown, champagne, gold, and silver.

After using this palette many times over the month of February, I am pretty much in love with it. When you think of 9 shadows, you don't exactly think of versatility, but I found that I could create many different looks with this little palette and that I din't have to overthink any of them.

For someone who isn't an "eyeshadow application expert" like myself, finding palettes that are easy to use and don't require planning or a lot of thinking, is important. There are so many times that I will pull out a larger palette and will get so overwhelmed that I either skip it completely or mess up the look because I didn't know what to do.

I love that with this smaller palette size, I have enough shades to create so many looks, but not so many shades that I get lost in them.

I also really like the size of these Huda Beauty Obsessions Palettes. They are the perfect size palette to hold in your hand as you apply and because of the really nice mirror, these will also make great travel palettes that don't require a lot of space.

The Huda Obsessions Palette design leaves no wasted room or excess packaging. It's simplicity at it's best. And - while the palette is small, you're actually get a lot of product and quite a bang for your buck. The large Huda Beauty Palettes are $65 (so expensive!), having a more affordable option is amazing. If she keeps making these smaller and more affordable palettes, you can bet that I will keep buying them.

Here are swatches of the Huda Beauty Smokey Obsessions. As you can see, the metallics in this palette are just gorgeous. I love, love the champagne shades which have a hint of pink that is so pretty. This is a great little palette and even though I had to take it out of my rotation for now, I can't wait to use it again.

Swatches of the Huda Beauty Smokey Obsessions

Purchase the Huda Beauty Smokey Obsessions palette along with the other 3 palettes from the collection at Sephora. I've tried three of the palettes now, the Mauve Obsessions (see review HERE), the Warm Brow Obsessions (see review HERE), and this one, and so far only one of them hasn't worked for me.

While I realize that $27 is still expensive for someone on a budget, I would suggest doing what I did, picking them up during the Sepora VIB Sale. I paid $22 for this palette and it's been very much worth the money.
