Ulta 21 Days of Beauty Haul | Spring 2018

The Spring 2018 Ulta 21 Days of Beauty has come and gone and today I want to share the very few products that I picked up. I tend to go a little nuts during these sales but this time it was a combination of not too many things exciting me from the sale, and the fact that I really reigned myself in. I literally only got a few things, as well as three other items that were not part of the sale but that I took advantage of the free shipping for.

Stila Convertible Color in lillium: Stila Convertible Colors can be used as both lip and cheek colors and I've been curious about this range for years now. I am a big fan of cream blushes and am looking to grow my very small collection so when I saw these were part of the sale, I knew I had to grab at least one.

I haven't tried it yet but I have noticed that the shade is not as nude in a swatch as it is in the pan, it's pinker. Not sure how I feel about that yet but still excited to try this formula out.

The Dose of Colors Marvelous Mauves Palette was the one item in the sale that I knew I HAD to get. Not only is Dose of Colors more newly available at Ulta, it's a really amazing brand and I have already purchased two palettes from this range.

The opportunity to grab Marvelous Mauves  for 50% off was amazing and I can not wait to start playing with it. BTW: yes, my palette arrived a little worse for wear, but had already sold out so I could not get a replacement.

The Urban Decay Sin Eyeshadow Potion has been on my wishlist for a bit but I have been too stingy to pay full price. That's why I was super stoked to see this Urban Decay shadow primer range as part of the sale. I already own the original primer potion plus the anti-aging version (my favorite of all), and really wanted to try Sin out because I tend to wear a lot of bronzy shimmers on my lid and this is supposed to be a great base for that.

I have also heard that you can wear this particular shade on it's own for a very easy look. The shade is actually quite gorgeous and this is the first UD primer I own with a wand, which is cool. Right now I am thinking that this Urban Decay primer is going to become a go-to.

The Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara is my favorite mascara, I so wanted to pick up at least 3-4 tubes but even at 50% off, it adds up, so I only picked one up. This is my only regret as I do think I should have gotten at least two more since I go through a tube every 2-3 months. But with the Sephora VIB Rouge sale right around the corner, I really had to watch my spending.

I'm pretty sure I remember that about two years ago Mac Fix+ was $22 but these days it costs a hefty $26 per bottle, so - I had to get at least one bottle during this sale. It wasn't until after I ordered it that I realized that not only do I have a current bottle that I am using, in original, I also had the Juicy Fruit Coconut version and a full-sized Lavender Mac Fix+.

One can never have too much Fix+ on hand but it is better to use each bottle up on a timely manner so that you're not spraying expired product on your face. I ended up giving my daughter the Coconut Fix+ and have promised myself to get through my current open bottle as soon as I can.

End of Ulta 21 Days of Beauty Haul

I can't believe that's all I purchased from the actual sale. Usually I purchase so much more! However, since I had free shipping with the purchase of an item from the sale, I did pick up three other products and two of those items are going back to the store.

I enjoy a lot of products from Flower Beauty and have been hearing a lot of talk about the Flower Beauty Light Illusion Makeup, so I took the opportunity to grab a bottle. From what I had heard, this foundation is supposed to be similar in formula to LancĂ´me's Teint Miracle, which is a favorite of mine. I was excited at the prospect of finding a $15.99 dupe for my $49 foundation.

Can we talk about the amazingly beautiful bottle this foundation is housed in? Wow! Flower Beauty made this $16 foundation look absolutely lux and drool-worthy. But from the minute that I pulled the bottle out of the Ulta box I knew that the shade I picked out was going to be way too yellow on me. I was actually wrong as the foundation is not yellow but incredibly orange.

I often run into foundations that veer too yellow on my skin tone but have never run into a foundation that was so orange. And, even though I did wear it for an entire day, I never really got the gist of how it wore because I could not get past the terrible undertone. I almost ordered a second shade but after reading the reviews on the Ulta page and saw that many other have had the same problem, decided to just pass. Maybe I can come back to it in the future if Flower Beauty expands their shades and undertones.

The last two items I picked up were both from L'Oreal. I purchased another tube of the L'Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara (not pictured) for my daughter. She is currently on her 3rd tube of this mascara and it's become the only one she will use.

I took advantage of the 50% off sale on L'Oreal and grabbed a third tube of the L'Oreal Color Riche Lipstick I am currently in love with. At the moment I own two other lipsticks in this range and am completely in love with the formula, which is a more sheer and incredibly balmy one.

The shade I picked up is called Plum and I am actually not a fan of it. It's a bit patchy and runs a little too deep for my tastes, I would definitely call this more of a purple than plum. I will be returning this lipstick but I am sure I will be getting more from this range, it was just the shade that didn't work for me because the other two I own are amazing.

That was it for my Ulta 21 Days of Beauty Haul. While it's a little haul I did get an awesome deal on the sale items and can't wait to play with it all. I will be back soon to share my Sephora VIB Rouge Haul which is a LOT bigger!
