Urban Decay Beached Eyeshadow Palette

Today I am sharing swatches, photos and my thoughts on the new Urban Decay summer palette, the Beached Palette. SPOILER ALERT: I love this palette! From the minute I spotted the first photo on IG, I counted the days until I could get ahold of it. I didn't even order it online, as Ulta tends to ship via the Pony Express to my house, instead I waited for my local store to get it.

This palette gives me all of the Cali feels. It seriously includes some of my favorite shades and reminds me a bit of the Urban Decay Wende's Contraband Palette (reviewed here), which also had a really fun, beachy feel to it. That palette had a few shadows in it that were misses, I kept it because I loved a few of the shades but it was not an overall win.

Let's just say this was LURV at FIRST SIGHT. I mean, can you blame me?

The Urban Decay Beached Palette is a definite win all around: color scheme, formula, packaging and price. I like that they took the brush out of this palette and kept the price lower. When comparing it to the UD Gold Griot Palette (reviewed here), this is $5 less. If you don't own many eyeshadow brushes this could be a downside for you, but for the most part most of us have plenty of brushes and it's nice to pay less for the actual palette.

The only con I have found to this palette is that, again, one of the most amazing shades in the palette is on the chunky side. This is the same thing that happened in the Tarte X Aspyn Ovard Palette I recently reviewed. It's actually a very similar looking shade in both palettes that's a bit troublesome.

As you can see, 16th street is not as smooth as the other metallics. It actually reminds me a lot of my favorite ColourPop shadow Nillionaire. But the other shadows are really nice, Wedge especially, is super pigmented and fab. Daybreak is amazing, very pigmented and a perfect shade of rusty orange.  The two teal/blues...gorgeous city!!!! I've had no problems with blending or coming up with really easy, yet beautiful looks.

There's not much else I can say about the Urban Decay Beached Eyeshadow Palette, I'm in love with it and plan on using to pieces. Most Urban Decay palettes eventually go on sale but I would not recommend waiting on this one, if you like the color scheme, I would grab it.
